Where Motion Capture and Puppetry meet

For the first time, Phoebe Hyder is opening up her puppetry training to the public in this one-of-a-kind workshop. Puppetry, the Body, and the Puppet, invites you to explore the artistry of puppetry and how it can transform your approach to performance, especially in the realm of motion capture.

In the morning session, you'll work hands-on with puppets to master the fundamental principles of puppetry: breath, weight, and focus. You'll learn how to infuse a puppet with life, intention, and movement.

In the afternoon, you’ll apply these principles to your own body, exploring how to puppeteer yourself to embody characters and creatures with precision and expressiveness. This is a rare opportunity to bridge the gap between puppetry and motion capture, giving you tools to refine your physicality and develop an analytical eye for movement while working in the volume.

This workshop is innovative, practical, and unlike anything else currently available. Whether you're a mover, actor, mocap performer, or simply curious, this workshop is your chance to learn a completely fresh and transformative method.
